FAR FROM TELLUS is one of the most unique and colourful hybrids in the Norwegian underground, and has given many a purist nightmares during the course of its five years together.
Labeling themselves simply as "mind expanding music", their sound is a melodic, uncompromising and energetic onslaught, which brings together elements of kraut, folk, punk, blues, bluegrass, dream pop, psychedelia and British Invasion. In its primal and cathartic nature, it fearlessly attempts to break down barriers, smash traditions and attack institutions by shooting its spiritually charged words and music straight from the bottom of its bleeding heart into the collective consciousness of the Universe.
Their live shows range from ecstatic to shambolic, and have already become a much talked about attraction on the Oslo music scene.
FAR FROM TELLUS is currently putting the finishing touches on their self-titled first album, made with the help of Lars Lien (Motorpsycho) and Hans Jørgen Stop (Locomotives), to be released in spring 2010.
“…A mind-expanding four-piece from Oslo, playing an explosive and melodic brand of psychedlic krautfolk.”
